Open Farm Day

Our 5th annual Open Farm Day will be May 10, 2025 from 9a – 2p!

We will have a self guided tour around our farm to see all our animals. This will be much larger than one of our typical petting zoos when we are at events because you will get to see ALL the animals. Even the ones that don’t get to travel with us.

You will be able to go in a pen with the baby goats and baby lambs. I hope you’re not scared of birds because the chickens and turkeys will probably follow you around, especially if you have feed in your hand. You will also get to feed and pet the larger animals over the lowered fences.

Admission will be free, donations are appreciated. Feed will be for sale in a couple different spots around the farm.

We will have fun games setup for the kids to play. We will have wagon rides & barrel train rides for a small fee. (weather permitting)

The Chadwick Lions club will be selling food and drinks. Ruby’s Coffee Coach will be here from 8a-Noon selling their delicious coffee and other drinks.

We will have various craft & product vendors setup selling their goods. Last year we had around 40 vendors here selling. We will post a list of who will be here at the bottom of the page.

We had a couple issues with parking last year so we do plan to open up our pasture at the top of the hill west of our place (where the wagon rides went last year). You can pull in there so you don’t have to park on the road and then ride the wagon down and back from the event. Hopefully this helps from some needing to park so far away along the road. It will be safer for those with little kids walking down the road also. Our goal is to have a 2nd wagon running but time will tell if we get it repaired.

PLEASE NOTE: Ideal road, which is the road north of us that connects us to Route 40, is under construction. We know at some point in 2025 portions of the road will be closed for culvert replacements. Please watch this page and our Facebook page for up to date information of what sections are closed and the best way to detour around it.

• Pies Etc., by Louise aka “The Pie Lady-Morrison” – The Pie Lady will be offering large and small pies, cinnamon rolls, cookies and banana breads. Pie flavors include: Rhubarb, strawberry rhubarb, pecan, apple, cherry, Dutch Apple and blueberry.
• Udder Perfection Boutique – We carry anything from women’s boutique clothing, to accessories and even footwear! We accept cash or card and even have a dressing room on board!
• Forever M+D Permanent Jewelry – She will have Permanent jewlery, Navajo pearls, & Bangles
• Thistle Creek Farm – She will offer chair massages, goat milk soap, and goat milk laundry soap
• Team Fosdick Crafts – She will have a variety of tumblers and shirts
• Jen’s Scent Jamboree – I will have a variety of Scentsy warmers and wax melts along with non wax options for your car – or home, office, etc.

• Jessica’s Blankets and Throws – Hello! My name is Jessica and I am the owner of Jessica’s Blankets and Throws! All of my products are made from loop yarn! What’s so special about loop yarn you may ask? All of my products are made strictly by hand with no tools required! I have expanded from just blankets into creating other unique products such as; Plushies, Scrunchies, Cat Toys and so much more!

• Mud & Moo Boutique – Mud & Moo Boutique will offer a variety of items, Hats. Homemade soaps, Mud & Suds Home & Laundry products, t-shirts, hats, wrangler handbags, accessories and so much more. We will have something for everyone even the dog!
• Taylorwares – Laurie will be here doing a wool spinning demonstration and selling her wool products!
• Upcycled in Iowa – Embroidered gifts for everyone. Small leather notebooks, hair clips, scrunchies, earrings, friendship bracelets, kitchen towels and 420 friendly gifts are among my best sellers. Customization and special orders are welcome. Over 15 years of embroidery/crafting. I enjoy re-purposing materials for my work. All items are hand made.
• Straddle Creek Gardens – Darrin will have his pumpkin cannon here but since we don’t have pumpkins, he will be shooting bowling balls!
• Sugar Daddy’s Concessions – Sugar Daddy’s Concessions has all the sugar you need! We offer a variety of flavors of cotton candy and fresh squeezed lemonade shake ups as well as cotton candy novelty treats!
• Primitive Frills – We’re excited to participate in this awesome event again.  Primitive Frills will have Tee’s and home décor
• Dee’s Crafts – Homemade and recycled crafts including heavy duty, macrame hangers and beautiful ” Fairy” bowls with real ground cover!
• Linda B – Coasters, scrunchies, key fobs, bookmarks
• Kness Heating and Cooling – I will have shirts and hats along with a kid game to play for a small prize. Will also offer people to see a new furnace and air conditioner and flyers of what I offer.

• Whiteside County 4-H Shooting Sports – If you have a child between the ages of 8 and 18 years old, have them stop by the 4-H booth to try out archery!
• Everything Down Range – Everything Down Range is an archery shop located in Rock Falls IL. They offer archery sales & service, outdoor 3d range, indoor range, and bowsims 4d archery simulator. They will be setup at our event with a few items for sale and all ages can try archery for a small fee. They may even have a drawing for a new bow!
• Hairy’s Yard Art – Hairy’s Yard Art sculptures are one of a kind created from upcycled farm junk. Each sculpture conveys a story.
• Ruby Ribbon – I rescue women from their bras. I’m with Ruby Ribbon and we offer women’s shape wear, including camis that replace your bra comfortably, providing support without underwire while smoothing your back and slimming your waist.
• EVS Hobbies USA – We specialize in Remote Controlled Cars, Trucks and Boats. Planes & Drone stock is also expanding. We will also be doing demonstrations!
